David Oldfield made the jump to broadcasting after an outspoken and illustrious political career spanning the better part of  two  decades. Having worked across all three tiers of government as a local councillor, state parliamentarian and federal advisor, David brings a unique insight on politics, policy and personalities to the airwaves. After a decade running his own small business and his national success as a sportsman, he's no stranger to life's hurdles.

David first joined 2GB in November 2007 as a summer talkback host and, with his unique mix of news, life experiences and quick wit, soon became the permanent anchor on the highly successful Midnight to Dawn shift. He almost doubled the audience within the space of 12 months. Since May 2010, David has been a familiar voice on 2UE, hosting Mornings, Legal Matters and filling in across Afternoons and Drive.

David is brilliant at dissecting news, current affairs and entertainment. He's committed to talking with Sydney about what really matters. David opposes political correctness, calls a spade a spade and takes no prisoners. His tenacity and determination to pursue a story to the end makes for informative, nuanced, dynamic and always entertaining radio.

David and his wife, Lisa, have been married 11 years, have a young son, Harry, and another baby boy on the way. They spend much of their free time in the company of their furry and feathered friends -- three horses, six chickens, two parrots and two Jack Russells.
