Barnaby's truths on national debt?
Call for Barnaby Joyce to be sacked for comments at a media door stop, but our national debt is nothing to hide behind the carpet. Tracey Spicer says Labor should restrain spending, as Barnaby highlights their failings.

Supportive of debt comments...however would probably have couched it in terms of:
1. no hope of surpluses to ever repay the debt
2. refinancing risk is the issue
3. the financing and refinancing activies of the USA, Europe (esp the UK) and the middle east could actually crowd out refinancing activities of higher risk countries like Australia (primarily as a commodity based economy)
4. the problem is not immediate but will gradually creep up on us as Govt. bonds mature over the next few years.Chirp Wednesday 10 February, 2010 - 7:10 PM -
Barnaby has no idea on finances every time he opens his mouth about finance he makes mistakes. He thinks america australia will not pay their debts that is wrong because australia has the lowest debt plus australia has a tripple a rating plus one of the lowest unemployment. The voters will see through the liberals and return the rudd labor government with a bigger majority.

The labour government are following the IMF and World Bank plan to bankrupt nations. First they take on huge loans which can't be paid back and then sell off the nations assets to help reduce the debt to the IMF and World Bank.
Then what is left? A country with huge debt that doesn't own its own resources.James Wednesday 10 February, 2010 - 2:27 PM -
I am reminded of the Emperors New Cloths - every one knows something is not right but no one dare say it - thank God for Barnaby - he is like the child who spoke the truth - I hope we are listining. You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all the time - we have been fools to follow other countries and not stand up for our own. We have mortgaged a future.
