State Parliament subjected to longest speech on record overnight

We may be over-governed, and never get rid of state parliaments, but there are ways to make them more efficient. John Stanley has a few ideas Barry O'Farrell may adopt as a way to structure better governance.

Well said Justin J we must dump this shyster Ms. Juliar Gillard ASAP and her very dangerous damaging, sneaky, greedy cronies!!
They should all be charged with treason! And a Royal Commission is required into this Labor-Gillard's fraudulent CO2 tax affair!! Furthermore, politicians' office gaining affirmations must be in contractual, water tight writing. i.e. there will be no carbon tax!!!!
N.B. Tony Abbott needs to adopt Justin J's advice and protect Australia from future lying Juliar Dullards and her nasty, treasonous associates!

  • More citizens' control over parliaments needs to be introduced! First, citizens'induced referenda; second, Right of Recall, third a Bill of Rights, fourth, a National Constitutional Amendment declaring Freedom of Speech (to include the print and electronic media)in plain english language. Fifth, a declaration of democracy and its principles, again in plain english language! Sixth, severe penalties for politicians convicted of criminal offences! Seventh, new severe penalties for 'disgraceful /scandalous conduct' and 'incompetence' for politicians. Also cutting out the expense rorts, travel, staff and offices provided by taxpayers for ex premiers and prime ministers.

  • the glaring fact of parliment these days is the overrun of solicitors being reps or senators, it is also so that it is becoming apparent that thier brand of thinking does not work, we need ordinary good people not bad solicitors representing us.
