Bring on the Boxing Kangaroo
Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts said her city, British Columbia's second largest, will fly the Australian Olympic team’s boxing kangaroo mascot flag if the Australian’s are forced to take it down at the athlete's village.
We're ready to welcome the world and we'd be honoured to recognize the Australian athletes who have come all this way to join us, said Watts.
I'm also going to ask mayors in other cities across the region to join us in flying the Australian team's flag for a day and celebrate our friends from down under.
This is one of those special Olympic opportunities when we get to demonstrate our community spirit and all of us in Surrey are ready to host the world.
I'm also going to extend a special invitation to the Australian’s to take the ceremonial salute during one of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Musical Ride performances at our celebration site at Holland Park. I know they’ll get a great reception from everyone in Surrey.
Should our athletes be allowed to fly the Boxing Kangaroo?
Lawrence Champness from 2UE's New Day Australia chats with canadian station CBC about the IOC and the Boxing Kangaroo Flag, and finds support from the Canadian callers.

I phoned into CKNW talk radio in Vancouver and proclaimed that the boxing roo is now the official rebel flag for people to put on their cars etc to show their disdain for the control freaks that have landed from some far away militarist planet and taken over Vancouver
So here's what people can do and I would appreciate it if everyone here would spread this file around and encourage everyone to send the file to their favorite copy center and get glossy stickers made in about 5x5"
http://tinyurl.com/yk8fzbw
and print hundred and even thousands of them and distribute them around Vancouver and Whistler

For once the IOC emperors are finding out that they don't control the world.
Every BCer should get a Kangaroo FLag (small or large) and way it against the dictatorial IOC.
When had the IOC ever been held accountable for all the money they get and control from the Olympic games.
Congrats to the Aussi's for reawakening the opposition to this dictorial bunch of pompous asses.

I was just listening to CBC Vanouver radio about the boxing kangaroo flag being flown by the Aussie atheletes at the Olympic atheletes village and how the IOC wants the flag taken down. All the listeners phoning in, myself included, do not support the IOC in this and are pleased that the boxing kangaroo flag is there. The IOC is too controlling with their strict policies and should be more lenient when it comes to trivial issues like this. Go Auatralia and Go Canada. Cheers.
