Campaign to ban all puppy farms

Campaign to abolish all puppy farms across the nation

A campaign gets underway today to ensure the eradication of so-called 'puppy farms'. The Pet Industry Association has teamed up with RSPCA launching a national policy, to be presented to state politicians.

Puppy farms will soon have a hard time selling their dogs after pet stores also joined forces in a bid to stamp out horrendous breeding conditions.

People buying their pet from a registered New South Wales store will know their puppy was bred in an approved way on a farm meeting animal welfare standards.

All pet stores registered with the Pet Industry Association of Australia (PIAA) in NSW will begin implementing the policy from October.

  • I fully agree to end puppy farms however I do worry whats going to happen to the animals already there. Why wont the Government close them down NOW too many animals will suffer from now until they are closed down by law.
