Charlie Teo: 'embrace immigration'

Prominent neurosurgeon Charlie Teo

Prominent neurosurgeon Charlie Teo has used his Australia Day address to urge all Aussies to embrace immigrants. Jason Morrison says about 80% would agree with what he had to say in his Australia Day speech.

Dr Charlie Teo used his speech to call for greater kindness towards refugees - while also urging immigrants to "assimilate". And Dr Teo says we should all be grateful for what we have.

Dr Teo also says he understands why both sides of politics are struggling with asylum-seeker policy.

Dr Charlie Teo, the son of Chinese immigrants, addressed a gathering at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as he delivered the National Australia Day address, which has provided commentary on national identity since 1997.

Dr Teo said he wanted anyone who's come from another country to embrace the Australian way of life.

He said he wanted all Australians to see how immigrants have contributed to the nation and to appreciate that a rich and prosperous country such as Australia had a moral and global responsibility to share its resources.

He also thanked Australians for giving him professional and personal fulfilment, and for seeing a Chinaman as an Aussie, not as a foreigner.

  • I didn't expect our highly regarded, hard working professional to speak as though there is racism enough to speak of in our nation. For the millions who have arrived here legally and illegally, if you do not want to be Australia, you are welcome to leave. That is nothing more than common sense, Aussies are here to stay and thrive in our lifestyle, our culture our freedom of speech. I suggest everyone celebrate Australia Day in the true essence of freedom and for the fact that we are the best country in the world. Australia, love it or leave it is my motto I refuse to be any different to suit other nationalities, only welcome your new lucky start to life, get used to it Aussies are here to stay regardless of others attitude.

  • LIEbor spin at work here.
Use guilt and racism to shut down objection to the influx of thousands of illegal economic opportunists entering Australia, and then being totally supported by Australian Taxpayers.
The illegal unidentified economic opportunists are NOT bloody refugees.
More spin to shutdown objection to LIEbor Greens NON solution to border security.
LIEbor Greens Socialist policy is to have NO border protection and wants millions more.
To cause chaos along with the fraudulent crippling carbon consumer tax and put pressures on every area of our economy until its eventual collapse.
It is all going to plan.
The people know it and do NOT want it.
    Stop the boats.
    Reopen Nauru
    Issue Temporary Protection Visa
    Protect OUR sovereignty
Election to rid ourselves of the LIEbor Greens Independents Rats Traitors Party of Socialist Ideological Utopia New World Order destructive agenda is urgently needed NOW!
