People driving home after working a night shift are at greater risk of crashing...

Workers could be putting themselves and others at risk by driving home after a night shift.

That's what a Melbourne study has found after putting workers through simulated driving tests.

Researchers from the Institute for Breathing and Sleep at Austin Health put workers through simulated driving tests immediately following night shifts and found their ability to control a vehicle was significantly impaired.

As a result, it appears that there's a much higher crash risk in people driving home after night shift.

The Two Murrays found out more from Dr Mark Howard of the Institute for Breathing and Sleep.
