  • Hi, my father was on the HMAS Perth and in Changy/Burma Road and returned to become our father. My mother is still alive and my eldest son has marched on ANZAC Day for my father. My son has spoken with old mates of my dad at these marches, although there are very few left. My dad was a mentor for my son and spoke with him about his experiences. Dad took my son to the launch of the past HMAS PERTH when he was a boy.I am happy to hear this book has been produced as my mum has told me many times that not much is spoken about the young boys who gave their lives on the Perth. Thank you Mike Carlton. My dad has been mentioned in a book written by an American sailor from the Houston. He remembered my dad very well and his bravery.

  • Thank you Mike Carlton. My Dad was a CPO on HMAS Perth from 1939 and was taken prisoner for nearly 4 years in 1942. He died 4 years after being repatriated due to torture at the hands of the Japanese. At last Perth's story has been told : thankyou for bringing their story to the Australian public. Dorelle
