  • Judging by the previous comments here, none of you have bothered to research any facts, you just listen to biased opinions from 2UE instead! That was one of the most biased interviews I've heard, absolutely disgusting. As for Gary Bennett, how can you be serious? Or do you just not notice that Isreal regularly slaughters Palestinians, even when via American-bought warplanes? and Liz, the Palastinians in Gaza can't move forward because they are held prisoner in their own land! They can't even set up industry without the Iraelies bombing their factories to bits! No possiblity of import or export either, due to the illegal blockade.

  • In order to go forward we must look at the reality on the ground. Rihab seems to only be interested in throwing out the "mantra". To visit Israel and see Israeli Arabs shopping in the malls and dining in the cafes and catching buses alongside Jews, Christians and athiests only proves the use of the term apartheid is not only incorrect but offensive. As Vic said Israeli Arabs sit in Israeli parliament and work as judges in the court system. Can you imagine a Jew sitting in the Parliament in an Arab country? If they are allowed there in the first place

  • Rihab constantly bleats on that the Palestinians were 'dispossesed" of their homeland. She must be reminded that the Arabs ran from their homeland as soon as the United Nations resolved for a 2 state solution. They weren't dispossessed - they themselves chose to dispossess themselves at the advice of their fellow brothers in the surrounding Arab states. They had a real choice; to stay if they wanted and become Israeli citizens with democratic rights but this wasn't good enough for them apparently and it still isn't today as they continue to refuse every offer for peace which entails opportunity for a Palestinian homeland alongside a Jewish one.

  • Racial distinctiveness exists with Chinese who live in many countries other than China. This point to respond to Rihab's first point of how Jews can maintain an ethnic group despite living in many lands.

Interested in both the speakers but it did rather seem that Rihab was not as prepared to listen to the alternative speaker or even address the points he made.

The two State solution is the way forward which the Palestinian State has so far refused to countenance.

  • And the answer is .. Israel took two areas ,both in a state of war. They were attacked and responded . They have sat under numerous declarations of war and done almost nothing by western standards. We would not have tolerated our own government doing so little if we were under such threat in Australia. When did Australians become such hypocrites and dishonour those who fought for the freedom that we have.

  • The Jews have always been persecuted. Leave them alone and let them be. They are Gods chosen people and cause no harm to anyone.
