Former Foreign Minister Alexander Downer says Prime Minister Julia Gillard should avoid public comments about an Australian teenager, being held in a Bali gaol.

  • Julia and Kevin are like night and day, Kevin has a heart of gold for people and Julia is cold calculating back stabbing, heartless, etc etc etc, I could go on and on, Kevin is the foreign minister for a reason, he's likeable, he has a certain way about him. Really Julia should shutup since we don't believe or trust one single word that comes out of her mouth. Julia know your place!! It's in the unemployment line.

  • I would say having the proverbial 'friend in court' in an Indonesian setting with the personages of Madame Jul-liar Gillard and Rudd the Dudd unduly and stupidly interfering in the judicial system in that country would most assuredly do more harm than good especially in relation to an alleged drug sting involving corrupt police which prevail there!

  • All this inappropriate, peculiar, top-level, political interference gives the impression that the Indonesian Justice system is being internationally perverted by disrespectful PM Julia Gillard. The sensitive Indonesians are not stupid, spineless people! Like us! Indonesian justice will be served!! Regardless of Gillard and Rudd who have probably made things worse!!! They both should of respectfully contacted and possibly met with sensible, decent Indonesian President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono! Seeking some clemency!
    N.B. I note that did not happen with Julia Gillard's cattle-cruelty $fiasco!!
Julia Gillard is many things but "compassionate" is laying it on a bit thick, Miranda.
