Have you been scammed?

Have You Been Scammed? Tim Shaw wants to hear from you here!

Have you received a phone call from someone purporting to be from Microsoft seeking to fix your computer?  Or, perhaps you've been trying to sell your car privately and were told that the money was in your bank account, only to discover that it's been withdrawn...

Scammers are imaginative and manipulative.  They know how to push your buttons to produce the response that they want.

Every year, Australians lose millions of dollars to the activities of scammers who bombard us with online, mail, door-to-door and telephone scams.

This Sunday, May 15 on the 'Legal Matters Show' at 6.15pm, Tim Shaw will be investigating scams as part of 'Law Week'.  He'll investigate what the latest scams are and how you can avoid becoming a victim.

And, remember to let us know how you've outwitted the scammers by calling the Open Line, 13 13 32.

We'd love to hear your story – Blog 2UE’s Tim Shaw with your story below:

  • YEs. I have received this call.
Your response should be "I AM the system Administrator"
and they will hang up - can't scam a network admin.

Do not confirm your name, or any details.
