It's Double Dutch to David Oldfield

Shoppers already know inflation is rising at the supermarket

As David Oldfield discovered while grocery shopping on the weekend, it is okay to have Dutch food on the supermarket shelves.  So, why cannot we have a supermarket aisle that is dedicated to Australian made and produced items?

Are you experiencing difficulty sourcing locally made and produced items?  Join the conversation with David Oldfield.

  • How do We change the giant supermarkets practice of ignoring our farmers for a preference of purchasing the cheapest overseas rubbish to maximize their profits for their shareholders?..... Our family have made a conscious decision to buy through a company that home delivers only AUSTRALIAN fruit and vegetables, fish, meat, unadulterated milk, yoghurt, pies, assorted pre-prepared dishes, eggs, poultry, everything we need as a family. All guaranteed to be AUSTRALIAN. An AUSTRALIAN business grew and marketed the produce. The food was monitored and controlled by AUSTRALIAN regulators. So far the AUSTRALIAN distributor has rescued thirty Aussie family companies from virtual bankruptcy because the supermarkets dropped their products in favor of cheaper unregulated third world imports. You want healthy F.R.E.S.H food for your family that hasn't had sh*t poured over it? Put your hand in your pocket a little deeper and support an AUSTRALIAN. Does your family get paid at third world rates?...if the answer is no.....probably the local Australian families willing to supply you with fresh healthy produce don't Ã? want to be paid that way either.....Do yourself, your family and your country a favour today.....go google the Aussie home delivery company that supplies us with farmers products and TRY them......we did, and we can certainly taste the difference.....we will NEVER go back to the money-grabbing supermarkets for anything we might consider putting near our mouths.

  • It's getting so much harder to find purely Australian food now. The labels are worded so cunningly. "Packaged in Australia" (but the ingredient comes from goodness knows where)....."Made from Australian and imported products" ( the label comes from australia but the contents comes from goodness knows where on a camel)....etc etc etc.
We as a country have become an international laughing stock and dumping ground for the rest of the worlds' low grade contaminated food. Food that is so low grade that in cant be sold on local markets in the country of origin. Australians have become so frugal and mean-hearted in grocery shopping we will scan the supermarket shelves for the absolute cheapest product possible. We have no regard for quality, safety, protection of our local agriculture or the dangerous chemicals and human excretement that have been poured over the product to urge the item on to early harvest in third world countries. Countries with absolutely no checks and protections against harmful additives and practices. How long before we start purchasing Japanese irradiated products out of Fukushima that they can't sell locally. For instance. Dried seaweed being imported into australia for Japanese restaurants must stop immediately. The companies involved in exporting the type of seaweed used to produce the dried green wrap  around rice cakes has just been given clearance by the Japanese government to recommence harvesting.....in the sea to the south of the reactors!  Tests have shown the seaweed is carrying more than 7000% more radioactive cesium than standard background radiation. Yep...go back and read that again..... Mmmmm....Can't wait to try that dish. Should be cheap though.

  • By the way folks, whilst in Holland recently they pay half the price we pay for food in Australia. Just remember this is the lucky country.

  • This food importation rubbish is all wrong! Our forefathers would never forgive us for damaging our country the way our politicians have, this is very bad especially on now fast becoming irrelevant ANZAC half day!
Labor's fraudulent carbon dioxide scam is making things even worse. What a shame our traitorous, big ego Labor politicians are not on our side. Lest We Forget...
