Julia Gillard rises in opinion poll
Pressure on Julia Gillard's leadership appears to have eased-a-little, with slightly better-than-expected opinion polls. Craig Emerson tells Jason Morrison the government isn't being distracted by the speculation.
David Oldfield speaks with Graham Richardson about the latest Nielsen polling which shows a bounce upwards for Julia Gillard. Labor's two-party preferred position is the best it has been since November 2010 when it trailed the coalition by four points.
While the Nielsen Poll reveals the Coalition would still win an election if it were held now with 53 per cent of the vote, Labor has narrowed the gap with 47 per cent voter backing. But the survey also reveals a high dissatisfaction rating with both the Prime Minister and Opposition leader Tony Abbott.
Speaking to David Oldfield, Tony Abbott says he focused on holding the Government to account.
2UE's Chief Canberra Political Correspondent Michael Pachi reports Labor MPs have accused Kevin Rudd's backers of "inflating" his support within the party, as a new opinion poll shows the Gillard Government has slightly improved its standing with voters.

Karen, re your posting here about Gillard, haven't you the sense to realise that this self declared communist has utterly and wantonly stuffed every damned thing she has poked her big beak into in the cardinal areas of GOVERNMENT, i.e administration, finance and policy right across the broad spectrum of national government? Go and get..educated you stupid woman.

A lot of people who ring in and talk about Julia Gillard seem filled with hatred, and also many of them don't even seem to know why they hate her as their reasoning and information seems impaired. It seems Julia is a scapegoat to many many people. She is attacked via various media outlets 24/7, and I reckon she's a very strong person who's doing a pretty good job. Give her a break 2UE, and geez, get over her gender not being the same as you (the majority of you are male); it ain't a crime fellas.

It helps the Polls to be favourable to LIEbor when it was organised by the love media to LIEbor at The Age commissioned Nielson polling.
Did they take the poll at the same office?
NOT buying ANY improvement for this disgraceful rabble of a govt.
Emerson is wrong when he says we do not think about the govt every day.
NOT for just a leadership change, but a total change of Govt.
