I'm a full licenced driver 42yr old male from the A.C.T.
I recently got my learners for a motorcycle which I can do 100kp/h in the A.C.T. As soon as I cross the border into N.S.W. riding my bike my top speed is limited to 80 as I'm on my L's.Try driving in country N.S.W. with some 4WD towing a horse float itching to get past on a country road sitting 3 meters off your back wheel.
I have had this happen a few times and it's quite nerve racking, so now I do the posted speed limits weather it's 100 or 110 in N.S.W.
Until till I get my P's I would rather get a speeding ticket on my L's than to be run over and become road kill.
8Okp/h limit is dangerous for the learner and other road users.

I helped teach my three children to drive, the youngest spent every second weekend on the M4. as he gained confidence, i had him drive at 95 km/h...i took the risk but he was far, far safer on thar road albeit still slower than most drivers and he was a far safer driver once on his P plates - driving slower than on his L's

Q: What's worse than slow L Platers?
A: Slow full licence drivers they have NO excuse for being mobile road blocks!Evil triumphs when good men say nothing! Wednesday 25 January, 2012 - 8:25 PM -
As a Qlder my opinion
To teach someone to drive at 80 in a 110klm zone is dangerous to everyone else except them. It is stupid. You teach them to drive at the speed of the road. What moron came up with that rule???Max Wednesday 25 January, 2012 - 8:22 PM
