NSW councils expected to amalgamate?

Several NSW councils could be forced to amalgamate as the state government seeks a more streamlined approach. John Stanley points out we complain we are over governed, so should we expect amalgamation?

Councils touted for mergers include Gosford and Wyong plus those in Sydney such as Ashfield, Burwood and Strathfield; Manly and Warringah; Hunters Hill and Lane Cove; Mosman and North Sydney; Botany Bay and Randwick.
