PM Leadership rumblings for Gillard
Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd says he's proud to be a member of Labor's federal ministry, a day after a Simon Crean warned he could not return to the prime ministership. Paul Murray with a look at what he really said.
Former Labor leader Mark Latham believes the ALP's leadership is paralysed. It follows Labor frontbencher Simon Crean attacking Kevin Rudd, saying he wasn't a team player.
Mark Latham has told Paul Murray on Sky News the Government seems to have been brought to a stand-still by Labor's leadership tensions.
The Federal Opposition is talking-up Labor's Leadership-Tensions, claiming Kevin Rudd will challenge Julia Gillard within weeks. Addressing Shadow Cabinet this morning, Deputy Liberal Leader Julie Bishop says a leadership-spill is inevitable.
Treasurer Wayne Swan has played down talk that Julia Gillard is losing her grip on the Labor leadership.
A factional boss claims there's been a strong shift in support away from Julia Gillard over summer.
Some senior Labor figures have conceded for the first time they are nervous and think a challenge from Kevin Rudd this year is now inevitable.
Mr Swan says there is still firm backing in the caucus for the Prime Minister, rejecting reports the Government is being torn apart.

The many nervous, career Labor M.P.'s are starting to realize as everyday ticks away, that things are only getting decidingly worse for them. And the longer that Julia Gillard and her goons remain, the much greater chance that they will all be unceremoniously booted out forever. And then, they will have to try get a job on the moon! I think there will be an election called in the coming 2 weeks with Labor biting the bullet and later reinventing themselves, without ant-Australia Bob Brown, Julia Gillard, Kevin Rudd etc or those damaging, pesky Independents. And definitely not with Labor's fraudulent carbon dioxide tax! Just look at that hopeless shag on a rock case, that tragic mess, the treachourous NSW Unions Laborite "I want a carbon tax," the no talented John Robertson in charge of bugger all!

Mick, the only problem with the "Pink Batts Solution" was the fact it was implemented without having proper controls put in place beforehand and against the advice of the Federal and State departments concerned in running it. An incompetent "minister" (Garrett) was put in charge of it by an egotistical autocrat (Rudd). Gee, what a great way to get the job done properly!!

@mick.
"How long can they ignore Tony's monumental stuff ups?" Whatever his stuff-ups are supposed to be they dont even come close to that of the Labour party 'stuff-ups'.Robert Saturday 4 February, 2012 - 5:02 PM -
The only problem with the pink bats solution was trying to get money into the hands of people who normally don't have any. Liberals wouldn't understand that as their main goals are to collect 95% of the profits for doing 5% of the work. Typical effort here in the comments section with 2ue thinking Australians don't know what's going on. How long can they ignore Tony's monumental stuff ups, even as an opposition leader. Nothing but spin and vitriol from the young liberal trolls.

Settle down Pete, the only "con men" here are the disintegrating Labor government and "as for the BER 97% of schools were more then happy with what they got" they were the efficient Catholic schools only! Not the rorted, robbed Labor state school canteens. Leave it alone son, you are going blind.
