The Government should not give itself the right to virtually turn people out of the homes/position they have deemed necessary for their requirements. Most people undergo sacrifice to purchase the family home and this would be a slap in the face. A lot of people concerned would be elderly and it would be very detrimental to their wellbeing.

your socialist attitudes are becoming too prominent, I disagree with your comment and reasoning. You are as bad as the NSW government, who incidentley over a long period of time has failed to plan properly.

The government should acquire these homes as they come on the market, NOT force people out. It is outrageous and undemocratic. A lot of the people in these older homes will be elderly, perhaps widowed. They may not be so worldly anymore and have planned to live out their lives in their family home. The stress involved in having to rebuy, relocate and settle in a new, unfamiliar area would be enormous. What rights will be eroded next? Both levels of government, State and Federal are becoming way too socialist for my liking!

This is appalling, and goes against the basis of our democratic society. If the community needs your home that much, they should, through the government, offer you enough money that you WANT to move out - never forced to do so.
