Warning to Sydney dog owners over poisoned bait

Hundreds of unwanted dogs and cats are put down every week across the state. What can we do to stop it? Michael Smith seeks out why with vet Dr Romy Feldman, who says taking on a pet is a serious commitment.

  • The problem with dumped animals will never addressed until they ban the sale of them in pet shops and the puppy mills which churn out these cute little bundles of fur are shut down. I walked past a pet shop in Westfield last week which was crammed full of puppies.
    Perhaps companies like Westfield could take the lead and refuse to have live animals for sale to the passing public. That would be a start ! They are not a cute fashion accessory to be thrown away when the fashion changes.
