Sleeping tablets banned for athletes

Australia's athletes will be banned from using sedatives at the London Olympics. The Two Murrays with Keegan Buzza reveal the official team medical manual is being rewritten to include sleeping pills.

Officials have warned athletes would have their rooms at the village raided if they're suspected of possessing the likes of Stilnox and Rhoypnol.

It follows claims swimmer Grant Hackett developed a dependency to Stilnox during his career.

The Australian Olympic Committee says the safety of athletes was the main driver behind its decision to ban the use of sedatives.

AOC President John Coates says Swimming Australia has already worked to stamp out its use.
