New York battens down ahead of super storm, Sandy.

Experts have described Hurricane Sandy as 'Katrina Revisited' as it starts to make its impact along the U.S east coast.  Some cities are already experiencing flooding, with up to 60 million people affected by the super storm.

12,000 flights have now been cancelled - with schools, the transport system and even the New York Stock Exchange shutting down.

CBS Weather REport, Kirk Clyatt says parts of the East Coast are now experiencing wind gusts in excess of 200 kms per hour.

Jason Morrison caught up with two Aussies living in New York - Mate Vulic and James Anderson -  to find out how they're being affected by Hurricane Sandy and to learn if New York is being evacuated.

James Anderson runs a video production company in New York that is streaming footage of the weather on turboproductions.com.au from his building.
