Tributes flow for swimming legend Murray Rose

The swimming community is in mourning today, with the passing of former Golden Boy Murray Rose, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

The 73-year old set 15-world records and won 4-gold medals during his time at the top of the sport in the 1950's and 60's.

He was admired both in and out of the pool, and described as an inspiration to all Australian swimmers.

Fellow swimmer Duncan Armstrong says Rose was also a great ambassador for the Olympic movement.

John Konrads with the Two Murrays reflects on the life and achievements of Australian Olympian Murray Rose.
