People caught lighting fires should be forced to clean-up the damage they've caused and put injured animals to death as part of their punishment according to Mayor of Yass Rowena Abbey.
Tim Webster and Tracey Spicer speak with her between battling the fires in her local area.
Premier Barry O'Farrell says he's impressed with an idea with the Mayor of Yass, who is also fed up with arsonists.
Fires continue to ravage NSW
Firefighters say they could be stretched even further today as more than a 140 fires rage around the state. 30 of those blazes are uncontained including one near Lithgow, & closed Bells Line of Road.
