Would a 'do not knock' register work in Sydney?

Sick of door-to-door sales people? David Oldfield on a private member's bill to create a do-not-knock register of properties, where people do not want to hear from door-to-door sales people, or those talking about religion.

  • Would "DO NOT KNOCK" signs work? I found out today. NO! The electricity sales bloke just rang the bell. Said he thought that was what he was supposed to do. GGRRRRR!!

  • Nothing but an excuse for government to interfere. The better thing to do is to give residents back their rights!

  • NSW Liberal Premier Barry O'Farrell. I am sick and tired of these so-called 'students' from overseas, who are simply trying to gain easy entry into Australia. Continually banging on our front door with all their very high pressure sales spiel for "cheaper?" electricity, optus, light bulbs etc. I feel that my property is being cased-invaded by these suspicious unidentifiable and most unwanted strangers! Clearly this troublesome, well rehearsed door to door knocking scam should be totally banned, being a blatant invasion of privacy. Obviously 99.9% of residents deplore this unacceptable, targeted door knocking menace!
