Such a major tax and threat to our economy should have more debate especially now that the IPCC leaked emails have been exposed. NO ETS

Combet is a career unionist with absolutely no financial, economic, or business credentials whatsoever. this is a tax on working families who combet and rudd say they are looking after. what a joke. out of touch government at its best.

Taxation raises revinue, intervention brings about change. The ETS is all about another form of taxation, it has nothing to do with correcting pollution problems. The letter 's' in CPRS and ETS stands for sham.

The Employment Termination Scheme would have to be the worst bit of legislation ever introduced into parliament

Why are the Labor party men not against the ETS, there must be some?

The ETS is just another tax. It will not reduce pollution. Big polluters will be able to purchase carbon credits but will they look at new technologies or just manufacture off shore. ETS in Australia will damage what little manufacturing industry we have. Jobs will be lost.
We are already overtaxed and I and my family are already suffering from increased energy charges despite the fact that we have so-called energy saving devices. We actively practice recycling and energy saving and are doing our best. Perhaps Mr Rudd needs to make available solar panels for Aussie households as first move.
As to global warming, look at the size of Sydney. Fewer trees and the loss of the original 'green belt' as the State Govt sold off the land for housing and development. Sydney would have been a different place today had the green belt been retained. Fewer trees means more hard surfaces and of course heat.
